Current Vacancy: Site Manager​

Description of role

 

The Site Manager will take on the responsibility of delivery of a project whilst on site. They will lead by example, plan the methods of working and implement this on site.

 

Primary interactions in role

 

Client, project manager / contracts manager, workforce.

 

Location

 

Site (UK-wide), typically staying away from home during the week.

 

Job Responsibilities

Quality
 

  • Work to the Constructex accredited management system and ensure your direct reports do also
     

  • Advance planning of projects with the project manager
     

  • Ensuring projects are adequately resourced
     

  • Determining project programmes at quotation stage
     

  • Taking responsibility for the delivery of project programme
     

  • Maintain site records
     


H&S
 

  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety and environmental legislation
     

  • Assist with the development of method statements and risk assessments for projects
     

  • Contribute to the improvement of working practices to eliminate or mitigate health and safety risks
     

  • Ensure method statements and risk assessments are followed on site
     

  • Ensure all site personnel are briefed and understand the safe systems of work (SSOW) in place
     

  • Ensure adequate PPE for all site personnel in accordance with the SSOW
     

Productivity
 

  • Procurement of materials, plant and labour to ensure project programme is delivered
     

  • Management of timesheets for all site personnel
     

  • Write a monthly report and update the project programme
     


Management
 

  • Manage team on site
     

  • Manage subcontractors on site
     

  • Maintain morale of the site team
     

  • Promote company culture on our sites
     

  • Develop a team on site who can deliver on ambitious project programme whilst maintaining our priorities of safety, protecting the environment and quality

Candidate Specification

Experience 
 

  • Experience working in construction in a management capacity (R)
     

  • Experience working in the maritime sector (D)
     

  • Training and mentoring staff (D)
     

Qualifications
 

  • BSc in Construction related degree (e.g. Civil, Coastal, Structural, Construction Management) (D)
     

  • HND or HNC Civil Engineering or NVQ Level 5 or 6 in Construction Site Management (can be superseded by degree as above) (R)


 

Skills / knowledge
 

  • Driving licence (R)

  • SMSTS (R)
     

  • Site Environmental Awareness Training SEATS (D)
