Constructex have been working hard on repairs to an existing sheet pile wall. This project commenced December 2018 and will complete next week. The work has involved blasting an existing sheet pile wall along a river to HB2 (Hydroblasting Standard) and installing a special coating protection system Interzone 954.
As part of the works Constructex obtained MMO permissions on behalf of their client. Originally Constructex had intended to over-pile the existing structure but t was later determined that protecting the existing structure represented the least environmentally impactful solution.
Welded plate repairs were carried out along the length of the structure where local strengthening was required. This will help prevent any loss of fill material behind and provide a structural enhancement to the retaining wall.
Over piling was carried out on other areas of the site where this was less environmentally impactful. Here a plastic piling solution was developed which offers a highly durable solution for our client.
Thanks to our supplier Marwood for the supply of plastic sheet piling.
