This week Constructex have commenced works at Berth 3 on behalf of Poole Harbour Commissioners.
The repair scheme has been devised by Constructex Chartered Civil and Structural Engineers and involves the installation of new tie bars and reinforced concrete works. Existing sheet piles and tie bars have corroded beneath the RoRo and the intention of the works is to prevent any future movements. Underwater burning, concrete and welding tasks will be undertaken by Constructex commercial diving team.
The Constructex work barge MCS3 has been mobilised to site from Portsmouth to assist with the works. MCS3 is a 16.5 meter multicat work barge with deck crane, ideally suited to inshore repair and maintenance or new build works. Commercial diving works for the project are supported using one of Constructex's containerised dive systems.
