Constructex were enagaged to reposition a bearing pad which had become misaligned. The works involved jacking up the beam from beneath the suspended slab; suffiecint to remove the elastomeric bearing pad and reposition it centrally.
Jacking loads and displacements were determined by calculation prior to the operation so that the works could be carried out in a controlled manner. Hold points and notification points were determined based on this analysis.
Constructex deployed its specialist marine confined space team and provided two Chartered Engineers to oversee the operation.
The works were vital for the continued safe use of the structure and were carried out outside of operation hours or the client.
